Progressive Metal
Progressive metal is a musical genre that evolved from both metal and progressive rock at the end of the 80's of the last century. It combines the loud and harsh sounds of heavy metal with the technical proficiency that was common within the progressive rock scene. Lyrically it is quite diverse but it mainly has a critical view on society.
