Progressive Rock

Progressive rock is a genre in modern rock music. It may be defined as an elaboration of standard rock music with musical elements of jazz, folk and classical music. The emphasis of the music was put into musical techniques. Lyrically progressive rock music told poetic, dreamy, fantasy and sometime even sarcastic stories. When played live progressive rock was often combined with stage performances, dance, extensive lighting and costumes.
