A LIQUID LANDSCAPE

After a hiatus spanning the better part of a decade, A Liquid Landscape are back with new music. Their third full length album is titled Rogue Planet and is set to be released end of May 2026. Musically it is a continuation of the art rock mix the band is known for, however, Rogue Planet leans heavier into the alternative rock sound of the late nineties and early zeroes.

Rogue Planet

The astronomical term Rogue Planet refers to a free-floating planet that is not gravitationally bound to any star. In the case of the album it serves as a social commentary on the current state of civilization. The world is at our literal fingertips, yet there is a global sense of disconnect. This album is a warning, a flirt with doom and a glimmer of hope for the disillusioned.

History

The basis for the band was formed in 1999 by the brothers Niels and Robert van Dam, together wih Fons Herder. After working under different names and with different drummers, Coen Speelman joined in 2007 and eventually the name A Liquid Landscape was adopted in 2009. The band self released their debut EP 'Long Lost Traveler' that same year, which had enough success for them to sign to Glassville Records.

Between 2012 and 2016 they released two full length albums 'Nightingale Express'(2012), 'The Largest Fire Known To Man' (2014) and the EP 'Stories Left Untold' (2016). The band also performed live a lot both in the Netherlands and abroad supporting bands like Anathema, Karnivool, Soen, Thrice, Riverside, Crippled Black Phoenix and many more.

However, after years of spending a lot of time on music, other parts of life started happening too. And when Covid hit, everything came to a full stop. The band kept working on new music in silence and when it was done and they started playing it live in a room one thing was clear: this band is not done yet...

The new album 'Rogue Planet' is now ready for release in May 2026!
